Atlas Roof Replacement in Orlando: What to Know First
Atlas roof replacement in Orlando typically runs $9,800 to $18,500 for a full tear-off and re-roof on an average single-family home, with most jobs completed in 2 to 4 days. We’re an independent Atlas service provider, not a manufacturer rep, so we quote you the roof that fits your house and your budget, not a quota. If you’re reading this, you probably own an Atlas roof that’s hit the end of its life, or you’re staring at a leak that keeps coming back. You want a straight answer on cost, timeline, and whether it’s even worth repairing again. Call (850) 303-7235 and we’ll walk your roof and give you a written price before any work starts. That’s how Greg Holloway has run every job since day one, and it’s not changing.
How Atlas Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
Atlas makes a solid shingle. We install plenty of them. But every manufacturer has failure modes, and Atlas is no exception. Here’s what we actually see on Orlando roofs:
- Pinnacle Pristine granule loss on south-facing slopes. Orlando’s UV is brutal, and the south and west slopes of Atlas Pinnacle Pristine roofs take a beating. We see granules washing into gutters by year 8 or 9 on homes with heavy sun exposure and no shade. Once the asphalt layer is exposed, replacement is the honest fix. We don’t patch granule loss, if the shingle is compromised, patching just moves the problem six months down the road.
- StormMaster Shake raised nail heads after wind events. Atlas StormMaster Shake is a heavier shingle, which is good, but we’ve pulled plenty of them off after a hurricane and found raised nails underneath. Happens when the original installer didn’t use the right nail pattern for a 3-tab-to-laminate retrofit. On a replacement, we reseat or replace every fastener to match current code, then we re-nail the decking if it’s loose. That alone stops half the “mystery leaks” we see in Azalea Park and Conway.
- Decking rot under Atlas shingles on 1990s homes. Atlas shingles from the mid-90s were put on roof decking that’s now approaching 30 years old. We regularly pull Atlas shingles and find OSB decking soft enough to push a screwdriver through with one hand. We don’t just slap new shingles over bad decking. We replace the rotted decking sheets to meet Orlando code, then we lay new underlayment before any shingle goes down.
- Flashing failures where Atlas shingles meet brick chimneys. The shingle isn’t usually the problem here, the flashing is. Original step flashing on older Atlas roofs in Thornton Park and Eola Heights is often corroded or barely tucked. Water gets behind the Atlas shingle curtain and follows the decking to the ceiling inside. When we tear off, we replace step flashing with new galvanized or aluminum, and we reflange and reseal the chimney cap.
- Crofton Architectural warping in low-ventilation attics. Atlas Crofton shingles curl and warp faster when the attic isn’t breathing. In Orlando’s heat, attic temps can climb above 140 degrees, and shingles bake from both sides. If we’re replacing a warped Crofton roof, we check the ridge vent and soffit intake before the tear-off. If the ventilation is wrong, we fix it as part of the replacement. Otherwise you’ll be back in this same spot in a decade.

Our Atlas Roof Replacement Process
Here’s how a Tilehurst Roofing Orlando Atlas job goes, from the first call to final walkthrough:
- 1
Call and schedule the walk. You call (850) 303-7235, a live person answers, and we set a time. We show up in the window we gave you. No ghosting, no “sorry, job ran long.”
- 2
Greg or a senior tech walks the roof in full, on the roof, not from the driveway. We check the Atlas shingle condition, decking, flashing, drip edge, ridge cap, and attic ventilation. We write down what we find.
- 3
You get a written price. We put the number in your hands before we leave, and it covers tear-off, dumpster, underlayment, new Atlas shingles, flashing, ridge cap, and labor. No “oh, we found rot” upcharge later. If decking needs replacement and we didn’t catch it on the walk, that’s on us.
- 4
We decide on parts together. We bring Atlas samples and also honest options from GAF, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed if you want to compare. Atlas is one of seven manufacturers we carry, not the only one. We recommend what fits your roof, your attic, and your budget.
- 5
Tear-off, inspection, repair, replacement. We strip the old Atlas roof, fix or replace any bad decking, install new underlayment and drip edge, then lay the new roof. We keep the job site clean, we keep nails out of your driveway, and we don’t leave until the magnet sweep is done.
- 6
Test, walkthrough, written guarantee. We check the ridge caps, the flashing, the seams, and the overall lay. Then we walk the property with you, hand you the written guarantee, and explain what we did. If anything is not right inside 365 days, we come back and make it right. No charge.

AfterWhat Atlas Roof Replacement Costs in Orlando
Prices below are real numbers we’ve quoted on Atlas jobs in Orlando, not national averages. Your number depends on your roof’s square footage, slope, number of valleys and penetrations, and whether decking needs replacement. Here’s what we see:
| Roof Size | Atlas Shingle Type | Typical Cost in Orlando |
|---|---|---|
| 1,500 – 1,800 sq ft | Atlas Pinnacle Pristine | $9,800 – $13,200 |

| Decking replacement (per sheet) | – | $65 – $95 |
| Tear-off and dumpster | – | Included in above |
What moves the price: roof pitch (steep roofs cost more per square), number of skylights and pipe boots, and whether your decking is rotten. Two-story Orlando homes also add labor. We give you a written, no-change-order price before we start. Call (850) 303-7235 to schedule a walk and get the exact number for your roof.
Why Orlando Homeowners Call Tilehurst Roofing Orlando for Atlas Work
Most homeowners who call us have been through the wringer. They’ve had a contractor no-show for a quote, start a repair then vanish, or finish a job and go silent when the leak came back. We built Tilehurst Roofing Orlando, a Kingswell family company, for exactly that homeowner. The Kingswell Guarantee is the only reason to trust a roofing company: a written price before any work starts, a written guarantee on every repair, and a 365-Day Done Right Promise on every job. A live person answers our phones 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, evenings and weekends included. When you call, you don’t get a voicemail or a call center. You get us.
Our techs know Atlas shingles because we work on them constantly. We know how the Pinnacle series handles Orlando heat, how StormMaster holds up in wind, and how older Crofton roofs fail when the attic isn’t vented. And because we also carry GAF, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed among seven manufacturers, we’ll tell you honestly if Atlas is the right fit or if another shingle makes more sense for your roof. Greg Holloway has walked hundreds of Orlando roofs, including old bungalows near the Milk District where flat roofs and original decking don’t let you fake anything. We tell you the price before we touch the roof – and we mean it.
Atlas Roof Replacement FAQs
If the Atlas shingle warranty is still active and you replace the roof, the original warranty is simply closed out. You aren’t penalized for replacing a roof that’s reached the end of its service life. What matters is that the new roof is installed to code and that any future warranty claim (on the new shingles) isn’t denied for installation errors. We install every replacement to current Florida code and document the tear-off with photos.
Sometimes, but we’ll be honest with you. If your Atlas shingle line is still in production and hasn’t faded too much, we can do a partial replacement. If the shingle has been discontinued or the sun has bleached the color differently across slopes, a patch will look like a patch. In that case we recommend full replacement. Call (850) 303-7235 and we’ll give you an honest read before you spend a dime.
Most single-family Atlas tear-offs and replacements take 2 to 4 working days, weather permitting. Orlando’s afternoon storms in summer can push a job a day or two. We factor that into the schedule when we quote you, not after we start.
Yes, if installed right. Atlas StormMaster Shake is a heavier shake-profile shingle with good wind ratings, and Pinnacle Pristine holds up to UV reasonably well. But no shingle survives bad decking, bad flashing, or bad ventilation. The installation matters as much as the shingle itself. That’s why we walk your roof and attic before we quote anything.
Yes. Every full roof replacement we do in Orlando is permitted and inspected. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection, and make sure it passes before we call the job done. If a contractor tells you a permit isn’t needed, walk away.
Ready to know exactly what your Atlas roof replacement will cost? Call (850) 303-7235. A live person answers, and we’ll get one of our techs on your roof to give you a written price. No pressure, no surprises, no games.
